To celebrate the publication of Rocket Men by Ron Haslam we have teamed up with the Honda Ron Haslam Race School to offer you the experience of riding on a Grand Prix racing circuit, an introduction to high performance bikes and the opportunity to improve your skills and understand the finer points of riding. The school offers expert tuition with race experienced instructors at Donington Park, probably the finest circuit in the country.

We are offering one winner a voucher for either one of the following two courses, depending on age and riding experience:

On Track

Riders from 12yrs can now attend the On-Track course... not only will it make them safer and better riders, it will introduce them to motorcycling with everything provided.

Using Honda CBR125's 12-13yr olds can gain an introduction to riding Performance bikes. Over 14's can use one of the schools fleet of new CB500s. As with all of the courses young riders must have had some experience on a motorbike and must be able to ride using clutch and gears.

On Track's sign on time is 8.15am and lasts until lunchtime. After kitting up (the school provides all kit) there is a briefing session, then the riders are taken onto pitlane to meet their designated Instructor. It's an open circuit between 0900 and 0940. No other course traffic apart from On Track riders are allowed on circuit during this time for safety reasons.

After riders have come off circuit, there is a debrief and then Ron Haslam will take them into the paddock for the development of further technical skills and training.

Premier

This is a half day course and will give riders a greater knowledge of riding techniques and the capabilities of the CBR660RR.  Using this powerful, competitive Honda CBR600RR, this course is designed for anyone wishing to improve their riding skills.  Riders will receive a comprehensive classroom briefing, in depth introduction to the track and the bike.  There are three 15-minute track sessions with personalised tuition to improve every individual's skill requirements (1 instructor: 2 pupils).  Each track session is followed by a debriefing session to ensure riders maximize the benefit gained on the track, and will cover any other points they may have.

Both packages include: presentation of a certificate to remember your time at the Honda Ron Haslam Race School.  All leathers, boots, gloves and helmets will be supplied if required.  Fully comprehensive insurance is provided, this also includes personal accident cover.

The Honda Ron Haslam Race School is at West Meadow Farm, 123 Main Road, Smalley, Derby DE7 6DT.  The winner will be responsible for their own travel to and from the School.

The winner will be sent a voucher for a session in 2009, dates to be arranged directly with the Honda Ron Haslam Race School.
